annotation of own script my part

Evidence of saving, rendering, exporting the opening sequence

 Saving.

In the image above it clearly shows us that we have are saving the drafts for the opening sequence once we have finished all the editing in the film.

Rendering.

In the image above shows us that rendering has occurred. This is part of the editing stage of the post production. Here is me on After Effects rendering it, then going on Handbrake and rendering it for the video comes up. When rending on after effects the video renders into an audio file however with handbrake it renders into a full video as a mp4/mov.

Exporting.

Once we were happy with the ending result of the opening sequence, we were then able to export this into a video and able to upload it so that everyone can have access to it.

Feedback and Improvements

 Improvements for movie

  • Continually evidence - cutting scenes
  • Separate shot of bag
  • Cut the pathway part.
  • Instead have credits in
  • Add Alethea at the start getting captured by the skinwalker

What Improvements did I make

One improvement I have made is at the start I added Alethea getting captured by the skin walker so that people can see what the story will be about. Although they'll be confused they'd want to know what happened and why she got captured.

I didn't add credits in on the opening sequence since at the start I wanted the story to dive in straight away. Then after the opening sequence the credits will slowly come in.

I've trimmed down the pathway part at the start of the opening sequence due to it being too long and not much is happening. I still want to show the deceives Rome and Alethea walking to show that they're trying to find the criminal.

I wasn't able to shoot a shot of the bag due to the exact tree being cut down.

For my evaluation I've added evidence of my editing so that there is proof that I've created the cuts.

SWOT Analysis for draft film: SkinWalker

 SWOT Analysis of draft film.

Things to consider of S&W - conventions (thriller & opening), camera graphics, sounds, editing, mise-en-scene

Strengths

Weaknesses

  • Having a camera will ensure us that we will have good quality. We were able to edit and watch the opening sequence with good quality and tell what everything is.

  • We had multiple days to shoot which made sure that everything was shot in the few days, in case there were issues on one we could change the date to film. We could also refilm anything that wasn’t done well.

  • This was my first time working with a camera which meant that I may take a lot of time to film trying to work out each button. The filming also may not have been done to the best of my ability due to the lack of experience.

Things to consider for Q&T - technical skill, logistics, resources, time remaining

Opportunities

Threats

  • Filming an opening sequence made us become creative since we could make it about anything that the target audience may like.

  • Filming in the park is 5 minutes away from school and my home which made it easier to access since I can just walk there.

  • When filming the park had a few people that weren't part of my opening sequence there. We needed to make sure we didn’t include them in any shots.

  • The camera has a battery life which was always full however since we were filming a lot it was scary since the camera may die and we may not get to film other scenes.
