The key themes that occur in the trailer are: escape, violence, fear

Film: Coraline

In the trailer we are able to see how Coraline goes into a tunnel into a new world with new parents. This shows us how Coraline escapes reality from going thought the tunnel. She want's to escape from all her problems and live a nice happy life instead of the miserable one. We can see how the film effects the audience since they'll be very interested in what's going to happen next in the film. The film creates excitement since there is a portal to another reality so people would be very interested and want to know what's going to happen there. The further we get into the trailer more enigma we have to know what's going on in the trailer. 

Escape:

The key theme escape, we are able to see how Coraline has to escape the old reality and save the souls otherwise evil would take over her. She feels like she needs to escape her reality to get rid of all her worries from life. She want's to be a stress free child as we can from the trailer. In the trailer it says "everything is so good" showing us Coraline is satisfied to escape as long as she has no worries.

Violence :

Another key theme violence we are able to see in the trailer in multiple ways, the other mother discipline Coraline. In the trailer the other mother says "You could stay here forever... but theirs one tiny thing you have to do" showing us the audience the buttons. This could show us how everything is about to start and not what everything is what anything is seen at the start of the trailer. The violence of sowing buttons in Coraline's eyes puts the audience on the edge of their seats.

Fear:

Another key theme is fear, we are able to see this in the trailer when Coraline feels uneasy about the other mother, and having a big responsibility to save the souls. In the trailer we can also see one of the souls saying "You are in danger Coraline" showing us the fear Coraline has for everything she is about to go through and what she should expect from all of it.

All these themes effect the audience how they feel, they're able to feel the emotions in the trailer, and get interested in. As we can see the key themes of violence and escape is clearly denoted in the trailer and narrated. As we can see in the image provided, Coraline is introduced into this new reality, and she's seeking escapism, although she's feeling scared she's willing to go ahead and go inside the tunnel. The colours of the tunnel being blue and purple helps Coraline know that the meaning of the colour means be aware on what may happen since purple is supposed to alert you to know that what you're getting into is a hazard.
