Why is the protagonist so careless?
How did he get into the chase situation in the beginning and why?
What problems will the protagonist face?
The opening sequence of a film is to create a eye-catching entrance to the film, as they attract the audience so they'll continue watching whilst the characters are getting introduced and narrative.
Conventions of Opening Sequences:
Introducing Themes/Ideology - With the introduction of the themes; the audience gets to know the symbolism of the film. It also helps introducing the narrative.
Introducing Characters - When the characters get introduced in the opening sequence; the audience get's to know what their roles are in the film (protagonist, villain, helper, etc).
Introducing Narrative - When the narrative is introduced in the opening sequence, it helps the audience become aware on what will be expected.
Engaging music - It is very significant in the opening sequence to have engaging music, so that the audience is engaged. It helps emphasises each of the scenes; from the tense plucked strings to the dramatic orchestra. Since the music builds up from the music the audience becomes tense.
Non-Linear Start - Using a Non-Linear start engages the audience and helps them becomes intrigued on what's happening and they'll continue to watch what's happening since they'll be curious about the situation shown.
